I did this illustration for an art showcase at my school.
The woman is a character of mine, in a story moment. I won't go into the full tale, but for this I wanted to show that her dyeing her hair represents a tragic loss of identity.
The man this woman loves from afar is from a kingdom that views her people as horrible creatures. So in order to meet him, she dyes her blue hair black. The two meet, and she leaves to marry him. But by choosing him, she forsakes her home and must hide her origins keep her hair black for the rest of her life while she lives with him. She pays a high price for true love, I guess. I may make more story-oriented posts in the future, but that's the basic idea of this one. :)
Please go into the full story?
